After the successful God's Mills, the Olomouc dramatic theatre is returning to its roots, back to Hana. This time, we will pay tribute to the undoubtedly most famous Olomouc native Eliška Junková, the famous car racer who was considered the fastest woman in the world and is still rated as the most successful female car racer of all time. Tomáš Syrovátka has documented her difficult life and brilliant racing career in his original text.
He was for many years the dramaturge of the F. X. Šalda and his plays were successfully staged, for example, at the Klicper´s Theatre in Hradec Králové, the East Bohemian Theatre in Pardubice and the Chamber Theatre Arena in Ostrava. ELA! was tailor-made for our ensemble and combines not only biographical elements from the life of Eliška Junková, but also a number of original songs that enrich or directly complement the plot in a distinctive and humorous way. The result is not a biographical drama, but a musical comedy inspired by the life and sporting achievements of the first lady of motor sport.
Filip Tailor will provide the Tomáš Syrovátka's lyrics with original music and will subsequently take on the musical direction. All this will be underlined by Petra Parvoničová's imaginative and original choreography, while Miroslav Král's set and costumes will bring us to the atmosphere of the first half of the 20th century.The creative team is rounded off by the artistic director of the Olomouc Drama Theatre, Roman Vencl, who will take over the direction. The premiere of the production, which pays tribute to a prominent Olomouc personality who spread the good name of our homeland literally all over the world, will also be a WORLD THEATRE PREMIERE!
