Cats Play

We live for each other

A tragi-comedy from 1963 that was originally written as a novel and only then, the author himself adapted it for a stage. A touching story of two ageing sisters, Ersi and Giza, set in communist Hungary, impressed the Czech audience mostly because of the legendary adaptation of the National Theatre in Prague which lived to see 403 repeat performances, excelling Dana Medřická and Vlasta Fabiánová. The life story of Szkall sisters, the most beautiful girls from the town of Leta, country Szolnok, who try to maintain their resilient optimism, sisterly closeness and passion for life which is not always easy however is worth each suffering. The Cats Play will be directed by an artistic director of theatre company Moravian Theatre Olomouc, Roman Vencl.
